Something To Shout About

From New Zealand comes pictures of Tony Scott,a retired merchant seaman and man of many parts.Does work here and there in the film industry in NZ.
He is pictured first in full regalia (and full throttle) as Town Crier, a historic vocation that was of immense value to citizens here in England as well, in pre-newspaper days.
Come Christmas and Tony gets out and about reading stories to the children in their schools and local libraries. Other pictures feature his readings to the littluns. Something that comes across as giving him as much pleasure as it does them.
Readings include Enid Blyton-a favourite author of his since his childhood.
And then of course there are his very popular appearances as Father Christmas.

A newspaper cutting explains in detail where Tony fits into the scheme of things in Central Hawkes Bay. He cuts an impressive figure both in the uniform and in the action.

How's that for style? Pity the parrot took off.

Tony introduces the Mayor at the City Library - quietly.

Introducing Dumbledore - Storyteller.

Typically well organised. Note the witch in the background making the tea-and probably preparing Sandwitches.

. . . and back to business. Tony leaves the theatrical stage and goes back to his roots. Bosun Tony Scott heads for the Landing Stage.

The danger of going for a pint while on duty.
" I'm sure this is where I left the Reindeer. . ."

" Now listen you lot. Two things to remember. No fires to be lit on Christmas Eve, and don't forget the large whisky and spicy tabnabs on the mantlepiece."

Pure Magic . .
